Radio Taxi Pollensa will take you to the famous Wine Festival of Pollensa
The Pollensa Wine Festival is one of the best known events for tourists and residents of the north of Mallorca. If you are on holiday on the island, don’t miss the most important wine-related event in the Balearics.
It will be held as usual in the Cloisters of the Santo Domingo Convent in the historic quarter of Pollensa on May 6th and 7th. If you like good wine, don’t miss out on this opportunity to taste wines that have received both national and international awards.
This event is organized by the Asociacio Vi Primitiu of Pollensa and for the fourteenth time represents a special occasion for both visitors and local residents to enjoy something different and unique.
What’s new about this year’s wine tasting Festival?
Thanks to the Pollensa Town Hall and the Associacio Vi Primitiu, the Wine Festival has been held every year since 2004. It consists of the coming together of vineyards in Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza, wine growers and wine cellars and other elements connected with the production of wine. All the stands are situated inside the Cloisters of the Santo Domingo Convent.
In this 14th Wine Festival here will be four new wine producers presenting their individual flavours and aromas. Many of these wines have received both national and international awards.
Furthermore, a group of restaurant owners who are members of the Association will offer a special menu which will include a main course of local lamb with the object of bringing it to the attention of visitors to the Festival.
Three days to enjoy the best wines on the islands
The Wine Festival will open to the public on Saturday May 6th at 11 a.m. and will close at 9p.m. On Sunday it will be open the same hours, 11a.m. to 9p.m. and on Monday it will remain open from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
This year the Wine Festival will be different in that there will be a special area for wine lovers to participate in various activities and emphasis will be placed on events aimed exclusively at professionals of the wine industry.
